AbstractAbstract
[en] A model to forescast the requests of documents was proposed and tested. The model was tested using the data from the Selective Dissemination of Information and Document Delivery services of the Nuclear Information Center (CIN) of the National Comission of Nuclear Energy (CNEN). The variable which were used to forecast the requests were identified and using the integration of the two systems and regression analysis techniques it was forecasted the documents of the so-called ''virtual collection''. The results obtained have shown the viability of the application of the model. (author)

(autor)Original Title

[en] The author reports his professional experience, since he started working at CNEN, experiencing the changes of the INIS system due to technological advances, translated into a web access interface. In addition, he justifies the motivation of the study in the perception of a decline in the use of the services of the Nuclear Information Center, mainly from INIS and the lack of studies to evaluate this product

AbstractAbstract
[en] International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an organization under the United Nations (UN), which serves to disseminate accurate information about the nuclear matters. In accordance with its role, an International Nuclear Information System (INIS) was established in 1970 to provide opportunities for member countries under the auspices of the IAEA to share information, expertise and knowledge, particularly in the nuclear field. Malaysia became a member since 1978, and the first country's input was posted in 1980. INIS activities are supervised by liaison officers (LO) to monitor and oversee matters relating to INIS management. From 1980 until 2013, there are many developments in INIS input and variation of publication type that have been indexed. Number of input increased year by year because of enhancement of publication published and also promotional activities that have been done either in Nuclear Malaysia itself or outside the Nuclear Malaysia. This paper will elaborate efforts done by Malaysian INIS Center in promoting INIS to Nuclear Malaysia researchers and target universities library in Malaysia. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] For designers and managers of information services it is important to have some understanding of the factors that influence the probability that an information need will arise in the mind of some individual, that this individual will be sufficiently motivated to seek the needed information, and that he or she will select a particular information source. While our knowledge of these matters is still very far from complete, the many hundreds of ''user studies'' that have been performed have at least shed some light on them. Factors affecting the selection of a particular information source (e.g., information center or library) will include some user factors (e.g., previous experience with a source) and many source-related factors, including currency, cost, accessibility, reputation, dissemination and marketing efforts, and the format and content of the information available. Accessibility will be a major factor influencing use of an information source but this goes far beyond physical accessibility; intellectual and psychological accessibility must also be considered. This paper combines these various factors into a ''model'' of information-seeking behaviour and from this attempts to draw conclusions that may be useful in the design of future information services. 61 refs, 1 fig

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Information Flow Diagram for Literature Survey (IFDLS) has been developed to manage information and procedure in the literature survey phase of the PTAs selection process. It is a tool utilizing information technology, which can organize, analyze, and evaluate information from literature survey and manage their process systematically. IFDLS is able to show the flow of information and data, and the history of information management processing. Information coverage and quality is not homogenous throughout the country and, in some areas, there may not even be sufficient data available to be able to reach a judgment on conformity with the site-specific evaluation factors (SSEF). Literature surveys could only be conducted on a volunteer area before it is nominated as a PIA. However, the absence of information on any factor mentioned will not constitute disqualification of the area. On the contrary, an attempt to compare these sites with analogous areas in Japan will be done to assemble sufficient data and consequently make a decision on whether to proceed further. The application of IFDLS to literature survey phase of the PIA selection process is being proposed. The concept, construction, application and evolution of IFDLS towards application phase on a trial basis are discussed. (authors)
