wow, and i just left all of them out there to float in the void until the end of time :(

most of the humans under my care did not make it, sadly... so i didn't manage to fill up all the slots in the shelter and eventually just ran out of stuff to do. is there any sort of end condition here?
sick game though, and i actually thought it was rather tense and not relaxing. between having to wrestle with controls, dodging stray comets and trees slowly dying during travel, there's a surprising amount of things that can go wrong!
this is actually amazing. IF Yume Nikki with a very distinct tone and a bunch of narrative stuff to find on top of just enjoying the exploration.
i also liked how there are these little moments (usually related to "glitches") that break up the usual way you interact with the game, and that you have to find codes to progress to new areas. maybe it's not much, but it helps make this feel like more than just clicking through text.
thanks!!
gonna wait for the post-jam update because i'm also unfortunately having some trouble with mouse sensitivity :( even setting it to max value inside the os doesn't really help
from what little i played so far this looks incredible though. feels like a bootleg cosmo d game ran through jpeg compression, and i'm 100% into that
you guys are awesome :)
sorry if it comes off as annoying, but those two games are actually made by different people :P the beginners guide is by the person who made the OG Stanley's Parable (the mod), while dr langeskov is by the team of people who (at least part of them i'm not sure exactly) worked on the standalone version together with the mod's developer
both games are great though :)
such a charming game! the gameplay is pretty straightforward, sure, but all the touches of extra effort everywhere make it a joy to play. being able to pick up a bag in each hand is cool, arms swaying when you run looks really cute, how polite the guests are when you deliver their stuff, all the art in general :) perfectly picked music as well
got the bug which broke the game after day 3. does that happen to everyone in the jam build or should i try again? i do wanna play more if there's more to see.
also i got 2 bags that were meant for room 406, but as far as i can tell there are only 401 through 404. mysterious...
fun game! i actually appreciated that the difficulty doesn't ramp up further into the game bc that let me enjoy the funny/cute captchas. and if i got distracted for a bit and didnt answer quick enough sometimes a new one would pop up right over the one im solving. idk if that's intentional, but it's really cool, cause it makes you panic for a little bit.
oh and when i got the "don't answer" captcha i let the time run out cause i thought this was gonna be the start of some kind of narrative lol. like, idk, another human trying to communicate with you through captchas or something. that could be interesting :)
fun twist on the theme and very well executed! i liked how the commands have different syntax (i.e. sometimes you have to just type the players name after the command, sometimes followed by a number). more difficulty/variety that way :) very funny writing too! and eventually overwhelming the player into giving up to end the game is a nice touch for a jam game. having your playtime converted to ms on the end screen made me lol
rip bingusgaming
my best is only 13 :(
banger of a game. the idea of designing a combat arena in a way that helps the "player" the most is so much fun. a lot of cards to maintain variety, traps/ice and fire tiles/healing thingy that are randomly generated for each map, health carrying over from level to level - it all works together so well and makes this a ton of fun even for someone like me who is pretty bad at games like this. great art too!
and pretty much all you'd have to do to expand this game further would be adding more cards and more room objects cause the base of the game is so solid.
amazing entry!
my only "issue" is that it was kind of hard to figure out where i can place the cards sometimes. like, from what i understand, theres a certain range around each object where you can't place another one, but it's not shown to the player in any way, so it gets a little bit annoying hovering over with the mouse trying to find the right spot.
oh, and i have a question: is it possible to line up the tnt goblin in a way that would get him to blow up more than one other enemy at once? i always tried to group him up with slimes and other monsters that move at similar pace, but i'd only manage to get just one of them when he exploded.
i'm gonna be honest, i was skeptical at first bc of the screenshots (my bad tbh), but i ended up absolutely loving this game. it's like a simulator of being an underpaid worker of a terminally understaffed theme park. the "heroes" do feel like absolute children (with breaking boxes necessary for completing the puzzle, getting mad when there's no challenge or no treasure), you're constantly on the run trying to put out various fires and there's no end in sight... the writing is super funny, all the gameplay stuff is simple but precise, and overall the game just keeps you non-stop busy for the entire loop which is so fun :) felt kinda bad throwing dead goblins in the garbage though..
i genuinely feel like if you can find out a way to expand on this idea with more levels and possibly co-op, you'd have a banger game like overcooked on your hands. stellar entry!
the game is so cute :) hoping for a post-jam version!!
all the parameter combinations create a big enough variety of puzzles, and i really like how the game makes you plan out all of your moves ahead of time, since you have to spend all ingredients even if you don't need them. this is great puzzle design.
super sweet art too.
loved it!
such an incredibly cool game mechanic! it reminded me a bit of Windowframe, since that's pretty much the only game i've ever seen with anything comparable in terms of gameplay.
i hope you try expanding on this/use this idea in another project, because it's really mind blowing in the best possible way :)
i don't think i've ever seen a single player game about being a healer... i assume that's because it's hard to make it engaging, but here you definitely managed that!! good art, very fitting epic music. the enemies are pretty easy to deal with, but there's enough variety to keep you interested. having 4 different skills is also great, especially being able to directly tell your tank/damage dealer where to go, but it's also sweet being able to directly help out in combat with the freeze. this is a great entry and i'd actually really like to play a more fleshed out game like this, i had a blast
this game was a blast! i loved the combination of photos with art, gave it a very silly whimsical feel :) all the aliens walking in the background, the little bugs you have to use to cover up your stuff, so good :)
fun gameplay too, i love puzzle games that are tactile like this! and i really liked that there is no punishment for failure, just trying again until you get it.
i'd love to play an expanded version if you ever make one :)
doing my part in fixing the injustice of this having so few ratings. what a phenomenal game.
expressive backgrounds and character portraits, music sets the perfect mood, writing that gripped me from the first few lines and made sure i stay until the end :) the ui changing together with the perspective switch is a genius touch as well.
the endings may be abrupt, sure, but damn is this a fine game even if you completely forget it's made in 48 hours. which, to be honest, is very easy to forget.
thank you for the experience!
this was so good! love the literal take on the theme, i was wondering if anyone'd do a theater/movie game. you guys doing all the voices and the core mechanic of swapping roles for every actor does make it feel like a real local theater performance :) cute art, and some of the writing is really funny. i really loved it and honestly think it's incredible!
