Summary: | The different views on 'rhetorical situation' seems to be the cause of different ways in which ancient rhetoric is applied. Apparently scientists do not have clarity regarding the relationship between 'rhetorical' and 'historical situation'. Studies in which rhetorical situation is viewed as synonymous with historical situation, and which also make use of ancient rhetoric only, are by nature more formal than functional. |
