Global bot status requests

Removal of global bot status

MagnusA.Bot

Is it possible for the stewards to remove the local bot flags on the different wikipedias as well (see sulutil)? If so I would like to have them removed as well, except for sv.wikipedia and commons. --MagnusA (talk) 12:53, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Done. Global bot flag removed. The different wikis has local bureaucrats that is active, so you have to place local request for the flag removal. -- Tegel (Talk) 14:04, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

The requets page is new so I am not sure if there will be much if any discussion. Per this the wiki was thinking of going down the route of Standard Policy . ·addshore· talk to me! 13:55, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Kolega2357@hi.wikipedia

Temporary flood flag. --Kolega2357 (talk) 20:22, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

It's only temporary. Administrator on Hindi Wikipedia said problem with that. --Kolega2357 (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

As I mentioned on my talk page, OK from one user is not community consensus. -- Tegel (Talk) 22:41, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Not done going on collecting flags will make further requests harder and harder. --Vituzzu (talk) 11:34, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

This is no collection of user rights. Assume the best intentions. I worked recategorization on the Vietnamese Wikipedia without errors. --Kolega2357 (talk) 12:32, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Ghosh Bot@bn.wikibooks

No crats on the project. --Pratyya (Hello!) 13:46, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

The task you want to do with your bot is pretty much useless on most wikis. Bn.wikibooks' new account creations are mostly spam pattern bots which don't need any kind of welcome message ([1]). I suggest to better not approve such kinds of bots on rather inactive/small wikis. -Barras talk 15:22, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
As I stated in the past, welcoming bots should be requested by the local community, and have strong community consensus to run. I don't see any comments from the community saying they need this feature, and so I'm inclined to deny it. Snowolf How can I help? 15:31, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Well @Snowolf: and @Barras: then why this bot was approved and in which basis? This bot is used to welcome new users. This bot is now inactive that's why I'm requesting right for my bot.--Pratyya (Hello!) 13:13, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
That bot should not have been approved for welcoming new users, imo. However, it was not me to take this decision. I strongly recommend to not approve such bots, as explained above. However, I won't make the decision here since people could say that I've a COI as I declined the bot flag for this task on simpleWT. -Barras talk 13:39, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Not done A bad idea to do this on a wiki with no active users besides oneself. --MF-W 07:04, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

The only infomation I have been given about bots on the project is "The bots that at active there run without a botflag without at anyone makes a problem about those edits." ·addshore· talk to me! 13:48, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Found a page with another bot request on and linked above. ·addshore· talk to me! 13:52, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry to come up with that so late, but ... is that an archive page? (history - vs. "root page") --MF-W 23:19, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Ahhhhaaaha! Lets pretend no one saw that! new page now linked to above. ·addshore· talk to me! 10:57, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

MerlIwBot@tyvwiki

My Bot is working on this wiki since years using incobatur bot flag and has done about 700 edits [2] while it was a test wiki.

My Java Framework had some global problems since Wednesday because of an api change at wikibaserepo requesting supported wikis. This is solved now. Merlissimo (talk) 07:01, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Done. --MF-W 22:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

Bot-Jagwar@chrwiktionary

Hello. Per this message, I'm asking the bot status for Bot-Jagwar on the Cherokee Wiktionary. There is currently no bureaucrat, administrator or active user over there (me excluded). Thank you in advance. Jagwar grrr... 14:39, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

I've reviewed what the bot is doing and I'm happy for it to have the flag. However, as I requested Jagwar to make this request I'd prefer another Steward to review and action it - thanks QuiteUnusual (talk) 11:49, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Bot Danilo.bot@brwikimedia

The bot updates every day the page wmbr:Wikimedia:Painel, that shows the recent discussions in the wiki, in the mailling list and in some discussion pages of portuguese WM projects. the WMBR wiki is very little active, this is why nobody has commented the request there. Danilo.mac talk 18:24, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Just a question: Since this is a bot who updates a list of current discussions, wouldn't it be better if it would not have a bot flag so the updates would be better visible to people? --MF-W 22:41, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
There is already a link to that page in the side menu of WMBR. Danilo.mac talk 05:21, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
