Hi man, sometimes all-in-one does not autopopulate the username field. I find this is most often when the wiki is non-English or uses arabic script. Any ideas on how this can be fixed? Love this tool! Its my most used - I hit every spambot with it. ~riley (talk) 22:46, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

@~riley: Sorry I cannot reproduce this, for example this guy on arwiki. If you are able to reproduce this please provide the contribution link. Auto completion will only work on Special:Contributions/Example or Special:Logs/Example etc. pages and the script uses the username provided by mediawiki (search "wgRelevantUserName") so if this is really an issue maybe we shall go to phabricator. --WhitePhosphorus (talk) 03:26, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

Figured out the problem - it is when I am clicking all-in-one on user pages. I noticed it was only happening for spambots and thats mostly because I was opening up spam in userspace. Can auto completion support be added for userspace? ~riley (talk) 04:32, 19 April 2020 (UTC)

Over-qualified CSS selectors

My apologies that this message is just available in English.

Over-qualified CSS selectors of portals in Wikimedia skins have been changed. div#p-personal, div#p-navigation, div#p-interaction, div#p-tb, div#p-lang, div#p-namespaces or div#p-variants are now all removed of the div qualifier, as in for example it is #p-personal, #p-navigation …. This is so the skins can use HTML5 elements. Your gadgets or user styles seem to use them and you will have to update them. You can read more in phab:T252467. How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Help regarding Abuse filter on hiwiki & bhwiki

Hello! Hope you are fine. I need some help regarding Abuse filter. Please take a look at this edit. This kind of LTA is more frequent on hiwiki and recently on bhwiki.

I have activated an Abuse filter on hiwiki (Filter 84 if it is not visible to you then I will provide the code here) but I am unable to understand why sometimes it does not work (see here).

Hello @Mtarch11, the easiest way is to click this link to API Sandbox, select "action=options" in the left sidebar, scroll down, click "Auto-fill the token" button at bottom-right, then click "Make request" blue button at top-right. Or if you are comfortable with browser developer console, open it and execute the following javascript:

(mw.config.get('wgDBname') === 'metawiki' ? new mw.Api() : new mw.ForeignApi('https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/api.php')).saveOption('userjs-p4-activeSysops-buttonPos', '0|0');

@Mtarch11: Oh many many thanks, didn't know that js, I tried everything via console, usually it's enough to reduce the zoom and the script appears out of the page, but in this case it didn't work! Unfortunately, by clicking on the smartphone it often happens that you move it incorrectly, and then it can no longer be found either from the smartphone or from other UA!
