പോളണ്ടിലെ സ്വതന്ത്ര തൊഴിലാളി സംഘടനയാണ് സോളിഡാരിറ്റി (Solidarność. ലേ വലേസയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ 1980 സെപ്തംബറിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. 1981-89 കാലത്ത് ഈ സംഘടന നിയമവിരുദ്ധമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

തുടക്കം

ഭക്ഷ്യവസ്തുക്കളുടെ വില കൂട്ടുന്നതിനെതിരെ ഉണ്ടായ സമരമാണ് കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റിതര സ്വതന്ത്രതൊഴിലാളി യൂണിയൻ എന്ന ആശയം യാഥാർഥ്യമാകാൻ കാരണം.

അധികാരത്തിലേക്ക്

1981-ൽ യൂണിയൻ നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; വലേസ ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി നേതാക്കൾ അറസ്റ്റിലായി. 1982 ഡിസംബറിൽ വലേസ മോചിതനായി. 1989-ൽ വ്യാപകമായ സമരത്തെ തുടർന്ന് സോളിഡാരിറ്റിയെ നിയമ വിധേയമാക്കി സർക്കാർ അംഗീകരിച്ചു. അതേ വർഷം നടന്ന തെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം സീറ്റുകൾ നേടി സോളിഡാരിറ്റി സർക്കാർ രൂപീകരിച്ചു. 1990-ൽ വലേസ പോളണ്ടിന്റെ പ്രസിഡന്റായി.വർഷങ്ങൾ നീണ്ട കമ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ അന്ത്യവുമായിരുന്നു അത് .ആ നിലയ്ക്ക് ഈ സംഭവത്തിന്‌ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ നല്ല സ്ഥാനം ഉണ്ട് .
