Interesting. It's high time Jack became the focus, I'll look into it. Baki Scarface is also a badass manga, but I dropped it at some point for some reason. I'll pick it up.

Thoughts on Baki? It used to be one of my favourite manga in my late adolescent years. I still haven't read the last two manga that have come out.

I really enjoyed Tokyo Revengers and Astro has a similar vibe. I am a sucker for gang based stories too. I would say it is a bit early to say how it will turn out, we are still at the point of collecting the main character group and the power system hasn't been fully explained in detail yet other than Astro springs out from your desire and something you hold close.

I think it will be good or average; I don't think it will be bad or amazing. I am giving it a bit more time but I like the story's premise of fighting back for control of the family gang so I hope it develops well.

The premise sounds so simple in the synopsis. I might call it like a fairy tale, but it sounds more like an NES JRPG, doesn't it, lol? I think there's a fair chance you'll appreciate it if you like Nihei (and I see you liked Blame), especially if you don't mind his later work. The artwork and atmosphere for the tower are excellent. Admittedly, if it were anyone other than Nihei, I would have been skeptical. Granted, I've only read one chapter thus far, but it's definitely more interesting than the synopsis would suggest.

You've read a lot of older manga and also gekiga stuff, so you might be interested in joining the group I'm in with Kraanerg (and Storm I see is a mutual, who is also in the group). Some of the people in there are definitely more helpful than me when it comes to manga resources lol. I'll add you to it if you want.

Hmm... good question. It's getting really hard to find some of these things lol. I remember reading some of the Nekojiru material on a blog in the past (but not sure if that was Udon). I'll have to take a look.

In the meantime, one tip is to use multiple search engines. Google is what a lot of people seem to use, but it's increasingly crappy for many things. I remember something that was "difficult" to find didn't appear on Google, but it was near the top on DuckDuckGo. I also check Bing and Yandex. There may be some other useful ones. There were some other sites I tended to check aside from search engines, but I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to manga lately.
