Green Acres Commons Opens, Brings More Retail to South Shore

The extension to the Green Acres Mall will have fun for the community this weekend to kick things off.

The new Green Acres Commons officially opened this week. The 350,000 square-foot outdoor shopping destination adjacent to Green Acres Mall brings even more retail attractions to the property.

Green Acres Commons is home to a dozen popular brands including Ashley Furniture Homestore, BJ’s Brewhouse, Burlington, Buffalo Wild Wings, Capitol One, DICK’s Sporting Goods, DXL Destination XL, HomeGoods, 24-Hour Fitness, Sonic Drive-In, Ulta Beauty and Five Below.

Starting Friday and continuing through Saturday, there will be a slate of live performances and family-friendly activities, plus great giveaways. On Sunday, the East Side Stories Band performs live at 3 p.m., followed by a spectacular fireworks display at sundown. A special shuttle will be available Friday through Sunday, running between Green Acres Mall and the Commons. The shuttle service will continue Friday-Sunday, during mall hours through late December as an added convenience for the community.

Last year, Green Acres Mall completed a redevelopment and remerchandising of the south side of the property, including a new entrance for Old Navy and an expanded H&M. To add to the comfort and convenience of shoppers, the property also incorporated new lighting, enhanced entrances and parking garage upgrades. Combined, the Commons and Green Acres Mall offer more than 2.1 million square feet of great shopping and dining.
