Overview

Located in an urban setting, all of our buildings are under controlled access. Students are only allowed on site when Campus Security staff are here. We utilize private security officers — in addition to U of A employed security personnel — in order to provide a continuous security presence on campus.

Emergencies

For immediate assistance, call 9-1-1 or utilize a blue emergency phone.

When to Call 9-1-1:

  • If someone is injured or ill.
  • If you see fire or smell smoke.
  • If you see someone being hurt.
  • If you see anything suspicious.
  • If you see someone stealing or damaging something.
  • If you see a drunk driver.
  • Or any other emergency.

Call quickly! Do not assume someone else has made the call. Try to provide the dispatcher with accurate, detailed information about the problem. Stay on the telephone until the dispatcher or police officer tells you it's okay to hang up.

Please notify a security officer if you have called 911.
