Millions of civilians are compelled to leave their families for Yemen and Kenya, looking for a safe place to wait for the end of the war. UNHCR, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, settles in Dadaad, in Kenya, three emergency camps, Ifo, Hagadera and Dagahaley. Every two weeks UNHCR goes to Liboi, near the border between Somalia and Kenya, to welcome those fleeing from Somalia. In 2007 the beginning of a foretold disaster. More than 900 thousand run away from the capital Mogadishu only. In May 2008, Kenya yields to American requests - concerning the risk of an uncontrolled influx of terrorists coming from Somalia - and, suddenly, closes the border.
