As we move through the haunted School, we hear a man being stalked by the spirits living there. His cries get closer and closer until, just out of frame, he tumbles to his death. By contrasting smooth, languid camera work with increasingly tense sound design, we hoped to create the impression of horror lurking just on the periphery all around the viewer. A fantastic Southwest Louisiana location, traditional Cajun imagery, and a score made up largely of acoustic Cajun instruments give the feel of the past intruding on the present, dispatching an interloper.
