| The 645,651 square-foot office complex located at 4555, 4557 and 4655 Great America Parkway, just west of the park entrance, is on land once owned by the park. The park purchased this land from the city with the intention of building an entertainment and retail district along the lines of Universal Studios CityWalk or Downtown Disney. This project never happened and perhaps enticed by high land values created by the Dot-com bubble, sold the land. While Prudential Real Estate Investors is the present day owner of this land, they acquired the property in 2001 from Nortel Networks as a sale-lease back. Interestingly, Nortel Networks did not move into the newly developed complex until 2002, suggesting Nortel Networks ran into financial troubles during the construction in post Dot-com bubble times. |
