A4
Hi, Ferien. I saw that you declined an A4 QD request on Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2021 movie) with the edit summary "decline QD. A4 is for "people, groups, companies, products, services or websites", and I don't think movies count as one of those things (bolding mine). This is also a notable movie".
When we added products to A4, I specifically asked if we wanted to limit it to physical products, and the answer was no. I consider movies and TV shows to be products, because they are produced for public consumption. I have used A4 on movie articles before quite a bit. - Auntof6, hi, I think I was thinking of it more in the TV programme way rather than movies in particular. I agree that we shouldn't just limit the products part of A4 to physical products. However TV programmes are almost never purchased as a product on its own, so I would disagree with you on that part. Movies often are, so I do think they are a product. - With TV series, it does depend on the way you look at it. TV series are mostly watched as multiple episodes, that are part of a larger product that is your access to many TV channels, but then you can often buy TV series on DVDs as well... --Ferien (talk) 14:37, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

After having a daughter in a refugee camp in Germany, the family eventually emigrated to the United States. She spent the rest of life in public engagement, speaking about her experiences and in 2009, published her autobiography, Here, There Are No Sarahs: A Woman's Courageous Fight Against the Nazis and Her Bittersweet Fulfillment of the American Dream. Recent changes
- Last week, Community Tech released the first update for providing better diffs, the #1 request in the 2022 Community Wishlist Survey. This update adds legends and tooltips to inline diffs so that users unfamiliar with the blue and yellow highlights can better understand the type of edits made.
- When you close an image that is displayed via MediaViewer, it will now return to the wiki page instead of going back in your browser history. This feature request was voted #65 in the 2023 Community Wishlist Survey. [23]
- The SyntaxHighlight extension now supports
wikitextas a selected language. Old alternatives that were used to highlight wikitext, such ashtml5,moin, andhtml+handlebars, can now be replaced. [24] - Preloading text to new pages/sections now supports preloading from localized MediaWiki interface messages. Here is an example at the Czech Wikipedia that uses

Problems
- Graph Extension update: Foundation developers have completed upgrading the visualization software to Vega5. Existing community graphs based on Vega2 are no longer compatible. Communities need to update local graphs and templates, and shared lua modules like de:Modul:Graph. The Vega Porting guide provides the most comprehensive detail on migration from Vega2 and here is an example migration. Vega5 has currently just been enabled on mediawiki.org to provide a test environment for communities. [26]

- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 9 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 10 May. It will be on all wikis from 11 May (calendar).
- Until now, all new OAuth apps went through manual review. Starting this week, apps using identification-only or basic authorizations will not require review. [27]

- During the next year, MediaWiki will stop using IP addresses to identify logged-out users, and will start automatically assigning unique temporary usernames. @Ferien i recently created an article about a novelist you deleted the page for the reason of notability without checking that subject is notable or not that subject is featured in Hindustan Times , outlook india and in international portals as well what else you need for notability? May i know how Mutahir Showkat is notable? Only 2/4 news are notable in this article i created that article with 8/11 news articles with all articles are notable and well notable Di45Q (talk) 07:43, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello there Di45Q, I deleted Asif Tariq Bhat because there was no claim to notability within the article. As of the references, it appear they mostly surround one event and a lot of them are interviews – but the reason I deleted was due to a lack of claim to notability, not necessarily a lack of notability. --Ferien (talk) 10:10, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

Do you think Fred Rogers should be removed from that page, or moved to the bottom section? I know there are a number of other articles that used to be GAs but are now VGAs. Lights and freedom (talk) 18:14, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
