Stephen Hendry (born 13 January 1969) is a Scottish former professional snooker player. He has won the World Championship seven times, a record in the modern snooker era.

Hendry started playing snooker in 1981, aged 12, and became the youngest ever professional at the age of 16. He finished his professional career 27 years later after his defeat in the 2012 World Championship. He was the World Number One for nine seasons, which is more than anyone else in the modern era.
