Homecoming

Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back former students and members. It also can be about celebrating an organization's existence. It is a tradition in many high schools, colleges, and churches in the United States. It does not exist in Canada.
History
[change | change source]The tradition of homecoming has its start in alumni football games at colleges and universities since the 19th century. Many schools including Baylor, Southwestern, Illinois, and Missouri[1][2][3] have said that they held the first modern homecoming.
