Loughton (pronounced /ˈlaʊtən/ ) is a town and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex .[ 1] Loughton Brooke Runs through Lougton and Epping Forest (near Loughton) is what is known as a SSSI (a Site of Specific Scientific Interest).
