What is rooted in the heart of a child is almost impossible to uproot in the life of an adult.
Educating, encouraging and supporting children are priorities at St. Paul’s. Our children’s outreach ministries connect loving volunteers with students, inspiring hope and a vision of the future. We serve as role models and help students see what they can achieve.
Our goal is to practice and demonstrate the very skills that the world requires: confidence, perseverance, self-control, goal setting, civility, building and nurturing relationships and making good decisions. By sharing God’s love, we are helping to create a healthy future for children and families in our community.
Adopt-A-Class
What do a hundred+ year-old church and an intermediate school have in common? They both love children! St. Paul’s and Newport Intermediate School have developed quite a bond.
Each year, volunteers from our parish adopt a class from the school, which has a significant level of need. Each child in the adopted class is given a “pen pal” from the parish, and these pairings exchange letters throughout the year. We even help sponsor holiday parties.
HUGS
It is difficult for children to learn and thrive when they are not dressed appropriately for school or protected from the weather.
HUGS is one more way we partner with Newport Intermediate School. Gifts of Hats, Underwear, Gloves and Socks are provided to the Family Resource Center to be distributed where there is a need.
