Megatron plans to pump sea water beneath the jungle, forcing an ocean of oil to the surface. Will the Autobots get off their tushes and stop him?

[edit] Synopsis
Prime and Prowl arrive at the island of Sumatra and find hundreds of square miles of jungle burned away, leaving only a white residue in its wake. The Decepticons are back at work!
In the underground "Decepticon development center", Megatron gloats over a modified tunnel-boring machine he's stolen from the humans. Soon he will use the machine and his new knowledge to execute his master plan!
The two later make their way through the jungles of Brazil's Mato Grosso, to the site of the satellite launch complex destroyed because of the Autobots. Satellite of Doom Megatron plans to squeeze enough oil from under the jungle to destroy the Autobots!
A native fires a poison dart at Soundwave. It does nothing.
A few days later, Megatron and Soundwave travel under the sea in their mole boring machine. Megatron plans to pump salt water under the oil, forcing it to the surface. The drill tunnel collapses, destroying the city of Machu Picchu while making part of the Andes Mountains collapse into a lake. Megatron is annoyed, but before he can do much besides call Soundwave a tape-filled idiot, the Autobots attack.
In the command center, Prowl listens for signs that the mole machine is active and concludes that it's shut down.
Megatron and Soundwave start drilling again, and flood the jungle with oil. Aboard a Decepticon defoliator craft, Megatron orders the jungle knocked down and more oil transporters brought in to suck up the oil.
The Decepticons' oil tunnel draws off a dominant warm current from the coast of South America; the cold current that comes to replace it wreaks global havoc on weather patterns. Bumblebee locates the Decepticons and reports in. Skyfire locates the Decepticons. The Autobots attack and win. Megatron and Soundwave escape aboard the mole machine. Earth returns to normal.

[edit] Quotes
"We are fully prepared now to go forward with the master plan!"
"We? What have you learned, you cassette-stuffed wimp! You know only what I tell you!"
- —...And what Soundwave gets told by Megatron - repeatedly - is that he's full of cassettes.
"All-powerful one... oh master... your vision of the destruction of those Autobot junk heaps brings tears to my eyes."
"Bah! You are nothing but a sentimental bag of bolts, Soundwave!"
- —Soundwave and Megatron
"That's only the ante, Prowl. The game has just begun. I'm
waiting for Megatron's bet. Then I'll cover it and force his hand."
- —But until then, Optimus Prime is just gonna sit there and let the world end.
"I'll check my radio, master, but... uh oh! My cable connection was
loose, master! It was my headset that garbled that message!"
"You mechanical nitwit! Is your tape wound too tight or what?"
- —Soundwave and Megatron should really invest in Bluetooth.
"Attack, noble Autobots! Reduce the infernal Decepticons and the corrupt Megatron to twisted heaps of hot metal!"
- —With that attitude, Optimus Prime really should've won the war already.
[edit] Notes
[edit] Animation and/or technical glitches
- The story opens by describing Prime and Prowl as being "in their robotic mode", as if they were combined or something. The same error repeats for Soundwave and Megatron.
[edit] Continuity errors
- In "Satellite of Doom", Skyfire died. He's alive here.
- In "Satellite of Doom", it was the Decepticons themselves who destroyed the launch complex. Yet according to this story, the Autobots did it.
- What happened to the first Autobot attack?? Did they just give up and go home?
- Prime seems pretty smug, considering he's just sitting there letting Megatron carry out his world-devastating scheme.
- What was the point of Skyfire finding the Decepticons, when Bumblebee already did so on the previous page??
- Megatron is pretty damn mean towards Soundwave. Shouldn't Starscream take his place?
[edit] Trivia
- The art is the usual mix of copied package art and toy-based drawings.
- Prowl wears a headset as he studies the computer "printout". Hahahaha.
- "Earth returns to normal" is, literally, a longer description of how the planet is restored than the book itself gives.
- Hound can fly...in jeep mode.
- The second-to-last page features, rather bizarrely, Bumblebee wearing a flat-headed Autobot faction symbol similar to that of the Wreckers.
