Bluestreak (Prime)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Bluestreak" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Bluestreak (disambiguation). |
- Bluestreak is an Autobot from the Aligned continuity family.
Bluestreak is an exceptional engineer. What he's not exceptional at is explaining his engineering insights and discoveries to others. He tends to let loose with a self-conscious nervous flood of rambling, jumbled, over-detailed explanation that even a fellow expert on the subject might have difficulty following. Thankfully he comes with a "translator." His dear friend and partner Prowl has the engineering skill to keep up with Streak and the more confident social skills to nudge his friend back from the edge of incoherence or sum up what he's attempting to say for any confused listeners.

Fiction
The Covenant of Primus
During the Age of Wrath, Bluestreak and Prowl were the bots who were able to decipher intercepted Quintesson information and reveal that the alien occupiers were secretly building space bridges with the intent to ship the Transformers off-world as slaves. They also devised a test that proved the Quintessons did not invent space bridge technology themselves and had likely stolen it.
After the Quintessons' defeat, Bluestreak was honored by being the first bot in the ceremonial relay of a torch containing power from the Well of All Sparks to ignite a new Well on the Archon colony. Bluestreak later moved to Archon despite misgivings about being separated from Prowl, who remained on Cybertron.
When the deadly galactic Rust Plague threatened all Cybertronic life and the space bridges were ordered destroyed, a desperate Prowl disobeyed orders and seized control of a bridge in hopes of retrieving Bluestreak. However, the plague had already reached Archon and although not visibly infected Bluestreak refused to risk spreading the disease by returning home. Despite a heartbroken Prowl's pleading, Bluestreak would not budge, offering his friend the hope that the authorities on Archon might still stop the spread of the plague with fire. A crushed Prowl was forced to detonate the bridge and Cybertron lost contact with all its former colonies. The Covenant of Primus
Aligned novels
When Optimus Prime and the others were captured by the Quintessons, the remaining Autobots aboard the Ark contemplated their next move. Sunstreaker mentioned Bluestreak as part of a strike force he would assemble to rescue the big guy and their friends, implying that Bluestreak had survived the Rust Plague and somehow returned to Cybertron before the Ark launched. - Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro)
- Prime: Beast Hunters Series 3 Cyberverse Legion Class Bluestreak is a redeco of Legion Class Smokescreen, transforming into a sports car loosely based on a McLaren MP4-12C, and coming with a "Chain Bolter" blaster with a chainsaw bayonet. His weapon features four 3mm posts and two ports, and can mount onto ports on Bluestreak's hands, robot back/vehicle roof, and onto the sides of his vehicle rear/robot feet.
- Due to being released after the Christmas season and before the launching of the Age of Extinction toy line, Bluestreak and the other figures of his wave were ultimately only available in Europe and Australia, in European packaging in both instances (an unusual occurrence for Australia).
- This mold was also redecoed into Prime Prowl and The Last Knight Barricade. The blaster, in various colors, was also used by Smokescreen, Soundwave, Hun-Gurrr, the Air Vehicon, and the Ace Vehicon.
Notes
- Bluestreak was planned to be included in Transformers: War for Cybertron — Autobots at some point, but was eventually scrapped for unknown reasons. He did remain in the design stages long enough to receive a nice piece of concept art courtesy of David White, though.
- Thankfully, Bluestreak's War for Cybertron design didn't go to waste, as it was later used for another Bluestreak and adapted for Prowl in The Transformers: Robots in Disguise comic series.
- According to an interview with IGN and the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising Target Exclusive DVD Commentary, Will Friedle had originally gone in to audition for a character called "Bluestreak," but was later given the role of Bumblebee when they were ready to supply him with a voice.
- In Robots in Disguise, Bluestreak is depicted in a black-and-grey color scheme inspired by his Generation 1 namesake.
