We're the most badass badasses ever!

The Combaticons were the subject of Shockwave's first combiner experiment and form the imposing Bruticus. Consummate professionals, the only thing greater than their devotion to Megatron and the Decepticon cause is their collective disdain of Starscream.

The Combaticons were in stasis beneath Crystal City after the experiment showed the Combaticons were unable to control their combined form. Following the city's destruction by Devastator, Bruticus was put on the battlefield at Praxus and Kalis, where he was dismembered by Optimus Prime, Jazz and Sideswipe, who tore off the head (Onslaught). Regardless, they remained active during the war, spying on the Autobots. Exodus

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

The Combaticons took part in the Decepticon assault on the Ark. After Starscream disabled Optimus Prime, Onslaught and Brawl hauled the Prime to the command base. As Megatron gloated, the Titan Metroplex rebooted and crushed Megatron. At Starscream's order, the Decepticons retreated.

When the Autobots made off with the contents of Shockwave's energon lake, the Combaticons were assigned to sabotage and reclaim it. Though Onslaught had masterminded a plan, their efforts were hampered by Starscream's impatience. Vortex and Brawl first disabled the bridge that the transport was due to cross, diverting it into a narrow passage where the Decepticon air force could ambush it. Despite Blast Off's warnings about the powerful anti-aircraft defences, Starscream led the Seekers into a one-sided battle. To try and salvage the situation, Onslaught ordered Swindle to disable the transport's wheels. While the con-man did so, the transport simply shifted to a flight capable mode. Boarding it, Swindle began disabling the anti-aircraft cannons only for Starscream to call off the air attack. With the air force gone, the Combaticons instead combined into Bruticus as a last ditch effort to salvage the operation. Bruticus was able to punch his way to the control room only for the Combaticons to discover that the damage had rendered the engines offline. Vortex and Blast Off managed a controlled crash but the landing destroyed half of the energon supply. Though Onslaught considered this preferable to letting the Autobots take it all, Starscream had the Combaticons jailed for disobeying his orders.

The group's defiance of Starscream was rewarded soon enough, as Soundwave resurrected Megatron, who quickly deposed and humiliated Starscream. Onslaught wanted to go after him, but Megatron apathetically let him go. When Megatron set out to retrieve Trypticon's remains, hoping to salvage his parts to build a space cruiser, the Combaticons accompanied him, using Bruticus to clear a path for their leader through the remains of Iacon.

After Megatron and Soundwave found that Trypticon still lived, they simply transformed him into his starship mode. When the Nemesis took off after the Ark, the Combaticons were part of the crew, though first some proper chain of command had to be established. After Jetfire severed the tow cables that allowed the Decepticons to cross over to the Ark, Bruticus jumped across to destroy the Ark's engines only for the efforts of Jazz and a missile barrage from the Aerialbots to send Bruticus off the ship and falling back to Cybertron. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

At one point, Starscream freed the Combaticons from the Decepticon brig.

When Shockwave went missing while trying to transport the Dark Spark back to Kaon, the Combaticons were dispatched to track him down. Vortex found the missing scientist along with a new recruit. Taking the info in stride, Onslaught quickly took charge, issuing orders to Swindle to escort Shockwave and his precious cargo while the other Combaticons covered their flanks.

Just as Swindle and Shockwave reached the Gates of Kaon, the Autobots under the command of Jazz launched a desperate assault in order to prevent Megatron from getting his hands on the artifact. With Shockwave warning against airborne delivery, the Combaticons stormed the gates.

As they drew closer, the Combaticons combined into Bruticus, making quick work of the Autobot war machines. Cliffjumper attempted to plant a detpak on Bruticus but the combiner managed to shake him off and take him prisoner, forcing the Autobots to stand down. Rise of the Dark Spark
