Kalki 2898 AD: Amitabh Bachchan apologises to Prabhas' fans beforehand: here's why
Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and the pan Indian film is being looked forward to by film buffs all across the world, not just in the country. Recently, mega star Amitabh Bachchan apologized to Prabhas’ fans ahead of the release of "Kalki 2898 AD". During a conversation with Prabhas about the film, the superstar preemptively expressed regret because his character, Ashwatthama, is slated for an epic clash with the Telugu superstar's character, Bhairava, in the movie.

In a newly released video by Vyjayanthi Network, producers Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt, along with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, discussed the Nag Ashwin directorial. Amitabh Bachchan reminisced about being approached for the role and took the opportunity to apologize to Prabhas’ fans in anticipation of their characters’ showdown.
“When Nagi came to talk to me about this, he just brought a picture, a visual of what my character is going to look like and what Prabhas is going to look like. And I was this huge guy who’s shoving off ‘THE’ Prabhas. And al the fans of Prabhas, please, you know, please excuse me. Main haath jod ke maafi maang rahe hai, don’t massacre me after you see what I do,” Amitabh said.
Prabhas then added. “They are all your fans too,” he said. Amitabh continued, “That was so impressive. I said, ‘He’s already got a vision in mind, he’s got a picture of what he’s going to look like. Very rarely do you see that.'”
Earlier, Big B confessed that he was taken aback with the concept of Kalki 2898 AD. “When Nag Ashwin came and explained his idea to me, for the long time after he left I was thinking, ‘what the hell is Nagi drinking?’”

Amitabh continued, “To see something like this which is absolutely outrageous, some of the visuals that you have seen are unbelievable. To have somebody conceive a project which is so futuristic and possible… and during the making of the film you realise that no matter what he thought of he actually brought all the material, all the effects, every kind of vision that he had to the screen and that’s been really amazing. For me to be just a part of it, has been an experience I’ll never forget.”
On the other hand, Prabhas says he has been a fan of Amitabh Bachchan since childhood, and remembers one of his uncles sporting a hairstyle that the megastar made popular in the 70s. The actor thanked producer Aswini Dutt and director Nag Ashwin for giving him the opportunity to work with "greatest legends" like Bachchan and Kamal Haasan on the futuristic drama that also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead role.

"It's like a dream," the "Baahubali" star said, recalling how he wanted to touch Bachchan's feet in their first meeting.
"First time, when I went to meet Amitabh sir, I was going to touch his feet and he said, 'Don't do it, if you do it, I'll also do it'. I was like, 'Sir please, I can't even think," Prabhas said at a promotional event of "Kalki 2898 AD" here last night, which was hosted by his actor friend Rana Daggubati.
According to Prabhas, Bachchan, 81, was the first actor to have achieved mass popularity across India.
