Khan, on Wednesday, was summoned by the Mumbai Crime Branch to record his statement on the incident. While there, he was reportedly questioned for around 4 hours and his statement was recorded.

As per Mumbai Police's official, Hindustan Times quotes the actor saying, "Firing incident, a serious threat to our lives." The actor said that after the firing, he even checked from his gallery, but saw no one outside. Shortly after, the building's security guards informed him of the events that transpired.

While recording his statement, Khan also expressed his 'frustration and exhaustion' over being targeted for a crime he has already suffered greatly and paid fines imposed by various courts.
Reports on other news portals allege that Salman informed police about what actually happened on the night of the incident. In his statement, he told the police that he was home on the day of the incident, and slept late that night as there was a party at his residence. Hours later, the sound of a bullet woke him up.

The actor also made sure to thank the Mumbai Police for their efforts in investigating the case.

Additionally, Salman's brother, Arbaaz Khan's statement was recorded. This reportedly went on for more than two hours. Arbaaz, in his statement, pressed on the gravity of the situation, stating, "Earlier, someone left a threatening note outside our house, and Bishnoi gang members conducted a recce at our Panvel farmhouse. This firing is the third incident, and the police should take it seriously."
Salman and his family were reportedly at home when the shooters opened fire outside his building premises on April 14. The police said that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Vishnoi, played a key role in the incident. Investigations into the shooting have led to the arrest of over 15 people.
