The UK Royals are one of the most famous people in the world, and the Royal family is often much in the news-- be it King Charles' personal life or Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis. While Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's strained equation with the Royal family is much known, now an old video of Prince Harry speaking of Queen Camilla has resurfaced on the internet and has gained a lot of attention.
The reason: Prince Harry called Queen Camilla "the villain" and "third person" in Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana's marriage. He even went on to say that she "needed to rehabilitate her image" after getting married to Prince Charles. Prince Harry was speaking to Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, and a clip from this interview is now viral on TikTok.
For the unversed, Prince Charles was married to the late Princess Diana while he had an affair with his now-wife, Camilla. This had led to Charles and Diana's strained relationship and later divorce.
"She was the villain... She was the third person in their marriage. She needed to rehabilitate her image," Harry said in the now-viral interview clip. It was shot in January 2023 when Harry was promoting his autobiography 'Spare'. And since then it has been liked by over 10,000 people and viewed by roughly 300,000 people in just a few days.
In the interview, when Cooper asked Harry if he and his brother, Prince William, had asked their father Prince Charles not to marry Camilla, Harry said, "Yes. We didn't think it was necessary. We thought that it was gonna cause more harm than good and that, if he was now with his person, surely that's enough. Why go that far when you don't necessarily need to? We wanted him to be happy. And we saw how happy he was with her. So, at the time, it was, 'OK'."
In the full interview, Prince Harry also said that after Camilla and Prince Charles' affair which was much in the news, followed by their marriage, Camilla was much in the need to recreate her image in public. Her "need for her to rehabilitate her image made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press... And there was open willingness on both sides to trade off information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that," Prince Harry shared.

While some people supported Prince Harry online by saying that at least he stood up for his late mother, than his father; some others have criticised Harry for his harsh remarks about his family.
A UK journalist and Camilla's friend, Petronella Wyatt told Good Morning Britain in 2023, after Harry's explosive interview that his words and actions would hurt his father, Prince Charles, more than Camilla. "He adores Camilla, and he'll be devastated for her more so than Camilla because Camilla will rise above it all and, you know, keep smiling and get on with the job," Petronella Wyatt had said back then, supporting her friend, reported Newsweek.
Meanwhile, the equations between King Charles and his youngest son Harry seem to be strained even now. Earlier this year, when Prince Harry came to know about his father's diagnosis through the media, he had paid him a visit to check on his health.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan had stepped down from their role and work as senior members of the UK's Royal family. Since then, the couple along with their two children have been living in California.
