Exclusive - Yeh Rishta's Rohit Purohit shares if there is any pressure from parents to start a family; says 'There are expectations...'

"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" actor Rohit Purohit has been happily married to Sheena Bajaj, known for her role in "Best of Luck Nikki," for five years. The couple first met on the set of their show "Arjun" in 2012 and quickly became friends. Their friendship blossomed over time, eventually leading to their marriage. Recently, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, Rohit Purohit, who portrays Armaan Poddar in "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," discussed his personal life and also opened up about his plans of embracing fatherhood.
When asked if there's any pressure from his parents about starting a family, the actor shared, "I won’t call it pressure but my parents do have expectations. Because now what they want. My dad is retired and my mother is a housewife, they stay in Jaipur, so they expect me to start a family. But it did happen once when there was pressure on us. The expectation was converting into pressure but now we all are on the same page. They understand now that we want to take some time and want to achieve a few things in life. So now they don’t put any kind of pressure. They have left the decision on us and have told us that it’s your life, you decide when you want to have to start a family. There is no pressure at all."
In an earlier interview, Rohit had mentioned how he was never very ambitious when he moved to the city, but it was his wife Sheena, who always dreamt big for him, "Sheena always wanted all this for me. In fact, when I met her I was not too ambitious, I suddenly came to Mumbai and had never planned on coming here. Then I just went with the flow in my career and life. But after she entered my life and the way she has supported me and showed trust in me throughout, I felt if she’s trusting so much on me and getting married to me at such a young age, I should reach where she wants to see me. Sheena has made an immense contribution to where I am in my life today. She’s extremely supportive," stated the actor back then.

In the same interview, Rohit credited Sheena for taking care of everything in his absence along with her own work, "I am not saying this just because she’s my wife but because she’s my backbone. She’s my best friend and handles everything in my absence at home. I shoot on the sets and I am out the entire day and in my absence she works herself but handles everything at home. She takes care of the entire house in my absence. I feel very fortunate to have a partner like Sheena, she pushes me to my extreme," he concluded.
