Unconsumption — About
Unconsumption

About

Unconsumption is not about rejecting consumption. It is about taking a mindful approach to the things we surround ourselves with, held together by a few simple guidelines:

We believe consumption is a long term relationship, best enjoyed with an intentional approach. We believe Unconsumption happens when we realize new things are not always better than the things we have. And we believe true independence comes from breaking the automated habit of consumption and replacing with a deeply personal habit of Unconsumption.

So we will enjoy what we have. We will confine ownership to what is personal and meaningful. We will find value in continued use, cherish objects through reusing and repurposing, and when our need for an object is exhausted, we will find a satisfying way to let go.
