Many would see it as fate that Temuri Ketsbaia's name can be rearranged to spell 'I'm a true basket'. A gifted midfielder and the man who would go on to compete for the wild man of Tyneside title with Faustino Asprilla, Ketsbaia first caught the eye of English football fans in 1996, when he produced a string of excellent performances for Georgia in their World Cup Qualifying campaign. He was soon snapped up by Newcastle United in 1997, where he became a cult figure with the fans thanks to his ability to go past defenders, but notably due to his infamous temper. The St James' Park advertising hoardings were once famously subjected to the full Ketsbaia rage in a quite bizarre goal celebration. However, despite a relatively long stay in England, Ketsbaia never really fulfilled his potential as a Premiership player and left to join Dundee in 2001 before returning to his former stomping ground of Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus, where he is now the player-coach.
