Sets in the City

Law & Order

Law & Order shoots on the streets of NYC.

NBC’s primetime mega-hit Law & Order is currently shooting its fifteenth season in New York City. The production employs over 130 NYC cast and crew members and is filmed entirely on location here in the Big Apple. Law & Order is the longest running drama series currently on television and the second longest running drama series in television history. It contributes $50 million to New York City’s economy on an annual basis and is a constant billboard for the multitude of unique locations that the City has to offer.

The show was created by Dick Wolf, who has proceeded to build a primetime empire with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Law & Order: Trial By Jury, all shot in NYC. Wolf was also executive producer on the series Deadline and New York Undercover as well as the Law & Order made-for-TV movie Exiled.
Jesse L. Martin is also known for his performance in the original cast of Rent. An NYU graduate and NYC resident, he has also appeared in the NYC films Burning House of Love and Season of Youth.
S. Epatha Merkerson’s NYC film credits include Jacob’s Ladder, She’s Gotta Have It and the Law & Order made-for-TV movie Exiled.
Dennis Farina has shot several feature films in NYC including Mac, Sidewalks of New York and Romeo is Bleeding.
Sam Waterston shot several feature films in NYC including Interiors, Crimes and Misdemeanors and Hannah and Her Sisters.
Elisabeth Rohm was raised in NYC and has played roles on the soap opera One Life to Live and in the feature film Deconstructing Harry, both shot in NYC.

In recognition of the show’s contributions to the City, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg made his primetime debut on the show during season fourteen and made a recurring appearance in the season fifteen opener.
