Developer Named for Alien RPG (PC)
Sega taps the team behind Neverwinter Nights 2 to create a role-playing game based on its newly acquired franchise.
By Li C. Kuo | Dec. 13, 2006

Earlier this week Sega announced that it had snatched up the licensing rights to the Alien movie franchise from Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. The deal was for multiple games, including a role-playing game. Sega has now revealed that Obsidian Entertainment, the developer that gave us Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and Neverwinter Nights 2, will be working on the upcoming Alien RPG. According to a press release sent out by Sega, this new game will "build upon the distinctive look and feel of the original films while utilizing next-generation technology to create an entirely different and unique Alien experience." The currently unnamed game is being developed for the PC and next-generation consoles. No release date has been announced.
