A Broadband Future for Australia

For too long, Australian business and education have been struggling with a very slow broadband infrastructure. Currently, Australia ranks 25th in the world for available internet bandwidth.

How can our businesses compete in markets where superfast broadband is cheap, reliable and widespread? Why should our kids grow up in a world where children of other nations enjoy lightning broadband in every classroom?

For a secure future in the global economy, Australia needs world class broadband infrastructure.

Federal Labor will revolutionise Australia’s internet infrastructure by creating a new National Broadband Network. New services and benefits of the network include:

  • Connection times up to 40 times faster than current speeds
  • Slashing telephone bills for small business
  • Enhancing business services such as teleconferencing, video conferencing and virtual private networks
  • Enhancing capacity for services like e-education and e-health
  • Providing high definition, multi-channel and inter-active TV services
Only Kevin Rudd and Labor have a plan to deliver broadband more than 40 times faster than most current speeds.

If you believe in the importance of high speed broadband, sign the petition below.
