The Iroquois, concentrated in upstate New York and northeastern Wisconsin, encompass six nations: Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk and Tuscarora.

In the 2000 census, 45,212 people in the U.S. claimed Iroquois ancestry.
