Internships

Interns in the Cox Washington Bureau are an integral part of the team. They work as general assignment reporters covering all aspects of Washington from Capitol Hill to the White House -- and everything in between. Working directly with the editors, we help them grow with challenging assignments. Many interns have gone directly to jobs at Cox newspapers.

The bureau typically has three interns a year, who each receive a weekly $400 stipend in addition to being provided with a fully furnished rent-free apartment, located in the popular Dupont Circle area of Washington. The apartment is located near the Metro Red Line, providing quick access to the bureau without changing trains.

The bureau is located at 400 North Capitol Street, a short distance to the U.S. Capitol and historic Union Station. It is a pleasant work environment with a state-of-the-art newsroom.
