The buildings were all grouped in manner to create enclosed courtyards, defined by colonnades and arcades, integrated into the buildings as in the old traditional Persian schools. Loadbearing brick walls were used with concrete earthquake bracings and prestressed, exposed, T-beams formed the floor; an economical construction system adopted from traditional and practical local building techniques.
