For Visitors and Residents

New York State’s‚¿ Adirondack North Country Scenic Byways highlight one of the most beautiful regions of the world. From Lake Champlain on the east, to our southern border on the Mohawk River, to Lake Ontario on the west, to the northern border with Canada, the fourteen-county ANCA region offers residents and visitors alike a unique travel experience.

Whether your interest is history, adventure, shopping in our artisan studios and farmer markets, or all of the above, you will find it in our spectacular surroundings. ANCA encourages you to sample the region’s‚¿ beauty and charm as you tour the thirteen interconnected byways.

We suggest you make plans to park your car in our villages and towns, shop in our byway communities, and explore our region by bicycle, canoe, kayak, and scenic rail. Use our interconnected land and water trails, experience the wilderness, people and products from the Adirondack Park, Tug Hill Region and surrounding communities.

The following links include descriptions about, and links to many of, the communities and resources of the 13 Scenic Byways.

Maps of Region, Signs to Look For, Places to See and Things to Do

Visitors in the Adirondack Park can follow the small brown and yellow signs along the thirteen Scenic Byways to nearby shops, services, food, attractions, tourist information and lodging accommodations. When traveling outside the Park watch for blue and white signs to find businesses located near the Scenic Byways.
