Centenary Way (Warwickshire)
Kingsbury Water Park to Upper Quinton
158km/98 miles
Signed

Winding trail running (very) roughly north-south through little-known parts of the county. Includes much quiet and low-lying countryside, numerous country parks, canals, the Burton Dassett Hills and Edge Hill, and the towns of Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa and Shipston on Stour, connecting at both ends with the Heart of England Way.

The Way was proposed by the county council to celebrate its centenary in 1989, and was eventually opened in 1991.

The unofficial WaLK (Warwick Leamington Kenilworth) from Newbold Comyn country park via Offchurch, Stoneleigh, Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington Spa uses parts of the Centenary Way and a south-north linking route between Offchurch and Stareton to create a 32km/20 mile circuit where the Centernary Way bulges westwards to Kenilworth and Warwick. A shorter 12km/7.5-mile circuit from Newbold Comyn via Cubbington and Old Milverton is also possible.

Public Transport. Stations at Bedworth (for Nuneaton, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Rugby and London), Warwick and Leamington Spa (Birmingham, Stratford, Banbury, Coventry, London). Buses at numerous points including Kingsbury, Whitacre Heath, Birchley Heath, Hartshill, Hawkesbury Junction, Ansty, Coombe Abbey, Brinklow, Wolston, Ryson on Dunsmore, Bubbenhall, Stoneleigh, Kenilworth Castle, Ufton, Harbury, Avon Dassett, Ratley, Middle Tysoe, Shipston, Ilmington and Lower Quinton (1km.0.75 miles from end).

The WaLK has excellent public transport connections with stations at Warwick and Leamington Spa supplemented by buses at Newbold Comyn, Cubbington, Stareton, Stoneleigh and Kenilworth.

See Public Transport for Walkers for enquiry lines.
