Bronze Stag: Tony Poptamas & Alexandra Ungureanu, they competed in the 2007 Romanian preselection with Where were you.
Silver Stag: Biondo. The Swedish band came second after Nico and Vlad Mirita this year in the Romanian final with Shine

The Drama Theatre in Brasov hosted the first edition of the International Festival "The Golden Stag" in march 1968. As the "Golden Stag" festival has its 40,th anniversary this year. 27 foreign artists competed in the Golden Stag 2008 in Brasov, together with 3 Romanian artists, for a total of 30 contestants. You can watch the final of contest on TV Romania 19.10 CET today, 20.10 local time tonight.
In history of festival, many famous singers were the guest; Julio Iglesias (Spain 1970) Christina Aguilera: James Brown, Kenny Rogers, Culture Beat, Paul Young, Boy George, Ray Charles, Enrico Macias, Dalida, Toto Cutugno (Italy 1990), Patricia Kaas, Jerry Lee Lewis, Kylie Minogue, Diana Ross, Sheryl Crow, Zucchero, INXS, UB 40, Cyndi Lauper, Vaya con Dios, The Kelly Family, Boyz II Men, T.A.T.U(Russia 2003), Scorpions, Ricky Martin, Simple Minds, Pink, Nino D’Angelo(Germany 1989) and Thomas Anders
In addition, Olivia Lewis who represented Malta in 2007 Eurovision Song Contest was represented Malta in Golden Stag 2005 and came 3rd.
Mariana Popova who represented Bulgaria in Eurovision Song Contest 2006 did not receive the score to pass the pre-selection process, neither did Claudia Faniello and Glen Vella from Malta. The festival is taking place in the square at the end of Republicii Street. 2004 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Ruslana peformed a special concert at the festival this week and tonight's final will see Simply Red perform as special guests.

There's a mistake in this article : Nino d'Angelo did not represent Italy in 1991, and actually never entered Eurovision. By the way, he should not be confused with Nino De Angelo, who represented Germany in 1989.
