Remstar Media Partners acquires canadian distribution rights for the movie "The Wrestler"

    TORONTO, Sept. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - Remstar Media Partners is proud to
announce the acquisition of the distribution rights in Canada for Darren
Aronofsky's new film, "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei.
    Golden Lion winner at the Venice Film Festival last week, the film
premiered in North America last night at the Toronto International Film
Festival.
    "Since the feature film war aired in Venice, the critics have praised the
film underscoring Mickey Rourke's outstanding performance," declared Maxime
Rémillard, President of Remstar Media Partners. "We are thrilled to be
associated with 'The Wrestler'". The idea of presenting the movie that people
are waiting to see throughout Canada has stimulated us and prompted us to
acquire more international calibre films."
    Distribution rights for the film in the United States were acquired by
Fox Searchlight. "Choice of a leading distributor like Searchlight will ensure
excellent visibility throughout the United States and we intend to deploy as
much effort to ensure success for the movie in Canada," added Maxime
Rémillard.
    The movie The Wrestler will be opening in coming months and will be
sub-distributed in Canada by Alliance Vivafilms.
