The White Stripes’ lead singer
Jack White and his wife, model Karen Elson, have welcomed a baby boy on
Tuesday. Henry Lee White is the couple’s second child, as White and Elson have
together also a 15-month-old baby girl, named Scarlett Teresa.
Jack White is 32 years old and he
is one of the most famous rock singers of the world. He married model Karen
Elson, 28 years old, in the summer of 2005. In 2006, the Sunday Times Rich List
revealed that the couple had a joint fortune estimated at least $37 million.
This made them the seventh richest couple in the list of entertainers aged
under 30, who were born or just live in the United Kingdom.
However, Jack White always
revealed just few details about his private life, as he has reportedly said he
doesn’t consider the artist’s personal life relevant to his art. And he is
right to believe this, as in his case the musical career speaks for itself.
Born in Detroit,
Michigan, as John Anthony Gillis, the singer
and guitarist has started his musical career by working with different
underground bands from Detroit.
It was only in 1994 that the singer met Meg White, with whom he married two
years later. He took Meg’s surname of White and in 1997 they appeared for the
first time on the public scene as The White Stripes. However, the two
performers divorce only three years later, before their becoming nationally
famous. A strange fact is that Jack and Meg have claimed from then on to be in
fact siblings.
Anyway, The White Stripes have
quickly become a successful band and in 2003 Jack White was already named the
17th greatest guitarist of all time by the “Rolling Stone” magazine. After
being romantically involved in relationship with actress Renee Zellweger, Jack
White eventually married model Karen Elson, the mother of his two children.
