Weren’t the Tories celebrating Britain’s opt-out of the Working Time Directive?
Eric Pickles was parachuted into the safe Tory seat of Brentwood when plenty of good local talent was available, and is a perfect example of the perversion of the party system. He is also a quite dire performer when in front of the camera, what possessed the Tories to let him out that night?
I don’t like the tories at all, but I thought Mr Pickles gave quite a good account of himself. Do we want our elected representatives to be getting unreasonably small amounts of sleep when they have to process huge amounts of information and reply to hundreds of letters? No doubt there are problems in the expenses system, and more secrecy is quite obviously a bad thing, but I don’t see this video as expressing anything unreasonable.
