Rosa Scarcelli
a new voice

Welcome!

I launched rosaformaine.com as a place to continue sharing my common sense, nonpartisan perspective on a broad range of issues. With time, and with your help, it will hopefully grow into a lively, interactive resource for understanding the political and economic challenges of today.

What I Did on My Summer Vacation

September 7th, 2010 by rosascarcelli

My campaign for governor centered on common sense, non-partisan solutions and that is what I will highlight in this blog.  We are living in uncertain times.  The economy is slowly stabilizing, our climate is changing, our energy and food sources need to be transformed, our education systems are being reevaluated.  So many of us are taking stock of our own lives and deciding what really matters to us, what we can do to make a difference and what government’s role should be in the process. I’ve been having the same thoughts and taking the same stock, especially since the primary this past June.

Rather than pointing out our problems today, I want to make a difference by shining the light on big ideas – the creative solutions to both simple and complex problems that are being found in the world.  There are an awful lot of leaders out there, in business, in government, in non-profits and in education, from my backyard in Portland to the other side of the globe.  This blog will highlight the change agents who are taking challenging problems and finding opportunity.  It will inspire my readers to make positive changes in their own lives, on any scale, and to get involved in the affairs of their communities.  As Mahatma Gandhi said, “You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
