Nanjing Iveco Auto Co., Ltd. (aka Naveco) was established on 1 March 1996.
It is an equal Sino-Italian joint venture set up by NAC China (Nanjing Automobile Corporation) and Iveco. It is also one of the largest projects finalised between the Chinese and Italian governments, and the most successful overseas collaboration.
After 10 years of development, Naveco has become a leader in China’s top-grade light commercial vehicle market , providing high-quality commercial vehicles to consumers in China. Its products serve various cross-platform industries, such as in tourism, passenger transportation, logistics, finance, telecommunication, electrical power, navigation, medical care, safety guards, mine & oil field, municipal services and administrative enforcement of the law.
Since 1 January 2007, as a result of the successful and all-rounded implementation of NAC and Iveco’s strong ties, Naveco and Yuejin have integrated their business to operate as New Naveco.
In December 2007, Saic has finalized a merger agreement with Yuejin Automotive Group, the parent company of Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC). According to the agreement, Saic holds the controlling stake of NAC thus becoming Iveco’s partner also in the New Naveco and Iveco’s sole partner in China.
