Punta Blanco Target Range

Southwest of Camp Jossman, about three kilometers from the junction of Barangay Salvacion going northeast is the Punta Blanco, the target range  of army during the American occupation on the early 1900s.  Punta Blanco is now part of Barangay Tinadtaran this municipality.  Punta Blanco is constructed with the two parallel  parapets which are made of rocks and mortars. The layer parapet was parallel to and about 20 feet from the dirt road of Barangay San Roque-Tinadtaran-Gaban Road Sections. It was six and half feet wide and about 420 feet long. Facing the road near the center of the parapet was a slab of rocks embedded on the wall marked "29 Infantry 1903" a mute autograph of the builders of the parapets. The target range is the favorite practicing area for shooting skills of General Douglas Mac Arthur from 1903-1904. The 29th Infantry Regiment of the US Army built the range called Punta Blanco by the natives, in 1903.

Today, said area is considered as the historical site in the Municipality of Buenavista which its facades and remain will form part of the legacy that was left by its history to  be told to the new generations.
