At X06 in late September Microsoft made a special note about its global initiative: The Xbox 360 will hit countries that have never seen a console on their shores before.
While the announcement isn't new, Microsoft's console launches in India and South Africa are impressive. The company has traveled extensively to launch its system in countries besides Europe, Japan and North America. Recent launches include New Delhi, India and Johannesburg, South Africa. By year's end, the system will be in the markets of 36 countries, which is more countries than any console has been launched in a single year.
