3DS XL didn't come packaged with an AC Adapter or a Charging Cradle but you can buy a larger Cradle for your new handheld when it is released next week.
Yes, Amazon is selling a 3DS XL Charging Cradle and AC Adapter for £19.99 from 24 August. So if you don't already have a 3DS and want to buy a 3DS XL plus the charging cradle and AC Adapter from Amazon, it will cost £189.98. If you don't want the cradle, you can just buy the AC Adapter for £6.99.
Original 3DS consoles come with a Charging Cradle and AC Adapter but Nintendo decided not to include them with 3DS XL in order to keep costs down for the consumer.
If you don't already have Nintendo's new handheld, here are 10 reasons to buy a 3DS XL
Another pointless peripheral for people with more money than sense.
Am I missing something, or am I right in thinking 'why didn't they just include it in the box anyway and put an extra £20 on the price tag?'.
£6.99 for the charger seperatley, so that means the cradle, which is just a small piece of plastic is £13?
Are Nintendo for real? Between this and £40 for New Super Mario Bros 2 as a download when you can buy it for at least a tenner cheaper at retail, I'm not sure which one is worse...
Seeing as I didn't use the cradle on my original 3DS I don't think I will be getting this - especially with what I consider to be a ridiculous asking pric
To be fair NSMB2's digital price sort of makes sense when you think £40 is the RRP, if Nintendo where to sell it for less than that it would kick off their retailers.
But the price for the cradle and charger is a joke.
Why aren't they selling the cradle seperately for people who already bought the AC Adapter?
Good to see the waste of a flappy thing is gone
Lmao. Ive always been one to sing Nintendos praises against the other leading brands but with the stunts theyre pulling these days its a little hard to.
Another thing is, Presuming the chargers and cradles will be avalable in shops sometime soon, how much will they cost? Because there are some people like myself that dont really like buying online.
but they dont have to pay to make a box and cartridge on the digital version
and placing shops above actual customers is retarded
Just to say. If you want a brand new RGB- Scart adapter for your Wii it'll cost you £20 from the official Nintendo website....... where is the justification for that?
But they do have to pay for servers to have the game available for download.
I never even thought of that... but I agree. (I'm on the "digital download" side of the fight.)
Looks like Mario isn't the only one after one million coins.
Amirite?
I'll be keeping with my normal charger, thank you very much.
I have a funny feeling Nintendo will soon bundle the handheld with the charger, and cradle, for the same price.
But you don't need to buy an "official" adapter from Nintendo, there's tons of cheap RGB-SCART options that won't break your bank. Just look somewhere like Amazon for example.
If I had a 3DS XL, I wouldn't get one, seeing as I never used my 3DS one.
I'm not so sure about that. Nintendo would most likely have and run their own servers rather than rent their own. If they rented, then they'd be bound to can and can't do's whereas if they ran their own, they could do what they wanted and needed to. Microsoft and Sony have their own and even EA do too. There's no reason why Nintendo wouldn't have theirs.
Unless you mean maintenence costs in which case I do see the point you're making but £40 is still far too much.
And download should be cheaper as there's no box and game card to manufacture or transport costs from warehouse to shops. If shops can sell at less than RRP and still make a profit (and they do) then so can Nintendo. Digital download also means that Nintendo wouldn't have to lose a cut of their profits to the retailer - they'd get more money for themselves. A bit of greed here too it seems. But when is a business not greedy for money? They all are.
