Hot damn, I was right! Totally didn't expect this to land on the Wii, though.

And now I hope the people who secretly wished for a game in which a DQ Slime buys out Mario's property will be satisfied.

Wait, that wasn't on everyone's wishlist?

I'm on the wrong site!

This is literally one of the last games I ever expected to see in the US. I'm going to buy twelve copies just to vote for a stateside DQX release.

For some totally bizarre reason I really want to check this out. Not that I know anyone who would play with me.

That is definitely a left-field localization. Wow

Looks like a fusion of Monopoly and Mario Party with the addition of Dragon Quest characters. I think I'll wait to see what Mario Party 9 looks like. Monopoly was one of those board games I hated because when you started to lose, you lost hard, and you just had to sit there and take it until you ran out of money.

So Nintendo sees fit to localize a Dragon Quest-themed party game, but not Xenoblade or The Last Story, two of the most acclaimed JRPGs of this generation? Bitchin', Nintendo. Bitchin'. (Yes, I will be bitter about this for a long time.)

Or Mother 3 or Mother 1+2.

I was wondering the same thing, especially since are both on track for EU release so most of the translation work would still be done. It just doesn't really make sense. These are high profile projects that would at least return the investment (and maybe some faith in nintendo as a publisher).

So, I'm taking it this game is like the board game "mini-game" in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Am I right to assume that?

Really this is happening? Will most of the world even recognize the DQ half of the characters?

Seeing Toriyama-designed characters along with Mario makes me wish a Dr Slump/Dragonball and Mario series crossover, a-la-Smash.
