ERC can confirm that the Federation Française de Rugby (FFR) has withdrawn its application to host the 2014 Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the availability of the Stade de France.
The pool draw for the 2013/14 Amlin Challenge Cup took place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Last season's tournament runners-up, Stade Francais Paris, are in Pool 5 against London Irish, I Cavalieri Prato and Spain's Olympus Rugby XV.
The pool draws for both the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup were conducted by ERC chairman, Jean-Pierre Lux, and ERC chief executive, Derek McGrath, with two-time Heineken Cup winner, Shane Horgan, as MC. The draws were broadcast live on Sky Sports News, TG4, Infosport+ and Sky Italia, and streamed live on ercrugby.com
