The Cavendish Professorship of Physics
The Professorship was originally known as the Cavendish Professorship of Experimental Physics, and set up when the Cavendish Laboratory was commissioned. The Cavendish Professors were the Heads of the Department up to Professor Pippard, where the role was separated.
