One of IAR's most anticipated films of next year now has a teaser trailer.
Our first real look at The Raid 2: Berandal promises that the sequel is doubling down on The Raid in virtually every way, upping the ante on the most high-impact action movie to grace American screens in years.
The Fast and the Furious film series is the most successful franchise in Universal Studios history having grossed over $2 billion worldwide, and the most recent installment, Fast & Furious 6, is the highest-grossing of the films so far having earned $788 million at the box office. So it only makes sense that the studio would fast track a seventh installment that is currently filming and is entitled Fast & Furious 7, which is scheduled to drive into theaters on July 11th, 2014.
Due to the film's quick turnaround, director Justin Lin, who has helmed the series ever since The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, had to step down, while Insidious: Chapter 2 director James Wan has taken over. Returning franchise stars include Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Lucas Black, who finally reprises his role from Tokyo Drift. They are joined by series newcomers Kurt Russell, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey, and Jason Statham, who's villainous character was teased in the previous movie's end credit scene.
Earlier today I had the pleasure of speaking with actor Tyrese Gibson about his work on Fast & Furious 7, while he was promoting his upcoming holiday film Black Nativity, which hits theaters on November 27th. The talented hip-hop star turned actor discussed filming Fast & Furious 7, what the franchise means to him, new addition Jason Statham, Statham and Dwayne Johnson's fight scene, the quick production turnaround, and working with director James Wan.
"The Road Warrior meets Kill Bill."
So describes IAR Managing Editor Jami Philbrick of Bounty Killer, which hits Blu-ray, DVD, and iTunes today, October 29th.
A featurette for Lone Survivor mingles new footage from Peter Berg's upcoming dramatic actioner with information from Marcus Luttrell, the man who actually lived through pitched combat to tell this tale of modern warfare.
A red band trailer for the Jason Statham-James Franco grudge match Homefront highlights the actioner's use of old-fashioned squibs for splattery, non-CGI bullet impacts.
Both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger tend to be better at destroying stuff onscreen than subtly observing their environment.
But the latest clip from Escape Plan has the two action icons collecting information on the sly, no pun intended.
The new "global trailer" for Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit feels more American than its domestic counterpart, upping the action and clarifying the deceptions faced by Chris Pine's up-and-coming CIA analyst.
In I, Frankenstein, the creature who caused so much trouble for his absentee father in Mary Shelley's original novel faces off against an army of demons.
An crisp and clear new image from the fantasy action adventure reveals one of these demons in a close-up that shows off some standout makeup effects.
In the ever-expanding universe of the Fast & Furious films, the car you drive says virtually everything about you. A car isn't simply a car. It's more like a spirit animal.
So the fact that the heavy drives a slick Aston Martin tells us an awful lot about the villain in next year's Fast & Furious 7.
