THE SINGLES FILE A weekly playlist for the listener with a one-track mind

Da Phuture: "Stupid Dope Moves" After percolating for months, this DMV banger has officially achieved mainstream earworm status.

The Weeknd: "What You Need" The mysterious Canadian duo (at least, we think they're a duo) are proteges of Drake and, if this killer track is any indication, pioneers of a new subgenre: smooth electro.

The Five One: "Closing Time" The Reston outfit prove that '90s nostalgia isn't just for aging Pavement fans with this affectionate hip-pop take on Semisonic's "Closing Time."

Mindless Behavior featuring Ciara, Tyga and Lil Twist: "My Girl (Remix)" The pint-size boy band rework their first-class jam with help from Ciara, who does an age-appropriate version of her usual World's Sweetest Gangsta Moll routine. Resistance is futile.

Fever Ray: "The Wolf" Knife frontwoman Karin Dreijer Andersson's contribution to the new "Red Riding Hood" soundtrack is a dark, bass-rattling, organ liquefier of a track that's nevertheless her most accessible song in ages.
