Yerevan has got 22 partner cities.

The first association agreement was signed on June 9th, 1978 with Podgorica (former Titograd).
The last agreements were signed in September, 2008 with Sophia and Delhi. Within the frames of partnership Yerevan cooperates in the fields of city economy, education, culture and sport, tourism as well as in creating joint enterprises, joint projects elaboration, investment and other spheres.

In November 2012 the Cooperation Agreement for the next three years was signed between Lyon and Yerevan. On December 05-09, 2012 by the invitation of the Mayor of Lyon Gerard Collomb the delegation headed by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was in Lyon France with an official visit with the aim of participation in the event dedicated to the 14th Festival of Lights.
