A Catholic wedding ceremony has many traditions; the order and content of the service depends on which Rite of Marriage the couple have chosen. If the couple are both Catholic then the Rite of Marriage During Mass is usually adopted for the ceremony.
There are various rules governing the couple's choice of the church; the couple should speak to the priest well in advance of the day. Several meetings will be held to discuss the arrangements for the wedding. The priest will advise on the service, including selecting the hymns, readings and psalms for the Catholic wedding.
